Handoff — 2026-09-01 — the About box named the wrong language
State
Fixed. aboutText takes the language and ShowAbout passes a.profile.Language, so Turbo Rust's About box reads "A Turbo C-style editor for Rust, / written in Go." and Turbo Go's still reads "for Go". Verified by driving both real binaries in a pseudo-terminal.
The sentence was a literal left behind by the extraction from turbo-go: correct there, drawn unchanged by every editor built on the library.
In flight
Nothing.
Next steps
- Nothing specific. It ships with the rest of the branch, and is part of what v0.2.0 will carry.
Open questions / blockers
- None.
Watch out for
- This is a class of bug, not one bug. Any user-facing string in this library that names Go is wrong in every editor that is not for Go.
profile.Languageis the field to reach for;grep -rn "Go" --include='*.go'over the library's user-visible strings would be a worthwhile sweep that nobody has done. - The documentation was already right. turbo-rust's
docs/*/reference/versioning.mdandhow-to/make-a-release.mdboth showed the corrected About box, so reading the docs could never have found this. Only running the binary did.
