Take the jvui where the backlog fills the pane it is in

:fill-height was being dropped, so the messages column claimed no slack
in the row it shares with the people panel — the backlog stayed as wide
as its widest line with the scrollbar stranded beside it, which is what
the last fix looked like it had cured and had not. A viewport with no
height of its own now takes what the column has left, too.
